Blazer Athletic Boosters
Annual Support of Valdosta State University Blazer Athletics
Your Blazer Athletic Booster Membership and/or Blazer Corporate Club memberships provide annual support to VSU athletic programs and its student-athletes. Additionally, it plays a vital role as we continue to produce champions at the NCAA Division II level. Georgia does not fund collegiate athletics and as educational, travel, and equipment expenses continue to rise, it becomes increasingly difficult to fund scholarships and operational support for our student-athletes. Your financial support helps us offset these costs.
Blazer Athletic Boosters: Each donor can elect to make a gift to athletics through the Valdosta State University Foundation that best suits his or her personal preference and interest. You may designate your gift to "general athletics" which is the best way to support all VSU athletic programs or your gift may be or your gift may be designated for use by any of Valdosta State's intercollegiate teams. Benefits begin with a minimum contribution of $50; however, smaller gifts are accepted and greatly appreciated. Donations are partially or fully tax deductible depending on benefits received.

* If member elects to receive above benefits, the cost of these benefits will be deducted from their tax donation. Members should declare at the time of making their gift whether they wish to receive or waive benefits.
Matching Gifts: The VSU Foundation has qualified for the matching gift programs of a large number of companies. If your company or your spouse’s is a participant, you will receive credit membership credit for both you and the employer’s total contribution, thus doubling or even tripling your gift’s impact. Interested donors should contact their personnel office for complete information on their employer’s matching gifts program.
Planned Gifts: You can make a substantial contribution to the Blazer Boosters through gifts-in-trust, charitable annuities, stock transfers, real estate, life insurance policies, and bequests. Many of these options provide significant tax savings, as well as rates of return significantly higher than traditional investments.
Major Gifts: Through the Blazer Boosters' alliance with the Valdosta State University Foundation, contributors may choose to make major gifts that support capital projects, facilities expansion, named endowments and facilities, and special initiatives for the intercollegiate athletics program.
For more information on the Blazer Athletic Booster Memberships, please contact Whit Chappell, VSU Director of Athletic Advancement at 229-249-2631 or e-mail: wchappel@valdosta.edu
