VSU Tennis Rolls with Punches

VSU Puts Away North Alabama; Delta State, West Florida Still Linger

PENSACOLA, Fla. - Due to a rain delay Thursday, Valdosta State's tennis matches with North Alabama were moved to early morning Friday, forcing a doubleheader that caps off with West Florida.

The second matches of the day against West Florida were called due to darkness, so VSU will continue to play UWF Saturday morning. In essence, Valdosta State went through one and a half doubleheaders Friday and will do the same on Saturday.

Both teams were able to sweep North Alabama in the early going Friday. The men and the women each beat North Alabama, 5-0, before officials ended the match.

The Blazers fell behind in doubles against West Florida, 2-1, before the match was called due to darkness. The Lady Blazers, however, were up, 4-1, on the Argonauts Friday night, needing just one more match to clinch victory.

Saturday, both the Blazers and Lady Blazers will finish against West Florida and play Delta State so check back at vstateblazers.com for results.
